About Me

Behind the camera and computer

I like to do a variety of things outside of journalism and photography. However, these two things I spend a lot of my time on because I’m super passionate about both of those things.

Through all four of my years of high school, I ran on the cross country team. During my senior year, I was a team captain because of my dedication to the program. I earned my varsity letter during my senior year and I enjoyed having my family at the meets. One of my favorite cross country meets was a mud run at the Hydrangea Ranch in Tillamook because of the team bonding experience. After a long bus ride with my teammates, I ventured into the mud pit with my teammates during the run.

Journalism has also taught me a lot about who I am. With those national conventions, I learned that traveling was something I love to do, which reaffirmed my goal of wanting to travel the world and do journalism and photography.

While on the job, I also want to have fun. At a baseball state championship, I had fun with the trophy because why not. It was fun. Being genuine and authentic is something I strive for. I am not shy of being myself.

In the future, my goals are vague and clear at the same time. I want to do sports photojournalism when I grow up, and I am content on whatever level I am doing sports photojournalism. Being around sports in any manner always leaves me happy and having a job I’m happy about is my number one goal in life. I don’t see myself not being dedicated to the art of journalism and photography.
